Andarctica - Brian Barth to his mum, has been a regular in the blog posts and playlists for a while now. Based in Amsterdam and adopting a live stream of consciousness and tape recorded approach to his ambient creations, he's built up a really solid catalogue of work over the last six years.

This latest album is being released by the every reliable Stereoscenic label out of Cleveland, Ohio and is as live an ambient affair as you're likely to hear, using voice, guitar, live tape manipulation and various effects to deep and disarming effect.
The album really is a fluid affair that snakes through the ambient spectrum from sun warmed islands of tranquility, over constantly morphing ethereal terrain with plenty of sonic snapshots for the active listener to absorb, arriving at all sorts of destinations, whether low lit subterranean earth frequency conduits or higher altitude, altogether breezier perches. It really is a well planned ambient journey rather than a mood piece.
It's another fine transmission from Andarctica HQ that has something for all ambient persuasions in its folds, but which will be a beautifully arranged, engaging, start to finish ambient adventure for most.
