Eliana glass is back in the blog again with the second single from her much anticipated, at least at TSMM HQ, album E. If you've got some catching up to do then check out her first single.
"Good Friends Call Me E" is another classy slice of vocal jazz with Glass' distinctive vocals elevating a late night, low lit tune where the subtle piano refrain sinks into the sparse, unhurried percussion and upright bass, the perfect vehicle to propel but not distract from the star of the show.
Scene set, Glass takes a thoughtful, somewhat unnecessarily melancholic considering her age, trip down memory lane into the world of no longer used nicknames, which certainly got me reflecting on my youth with a wry smile. Sometimes though it's not what you say but how you say it and it's another singular vocal outing. Whether it's her musing or perfectly judged scatting, she just digs that bit deeper and worries less what everyone else sounds like. She's a breath of fresh air, put April 25th in your diary.
